Most families are handed guidance in fragments. A tutor here. A leaflet there. And then, at seventeen, a young person is expected to talk about themselves to an Oxford interviewer.
Why this matters to us
The questions do not stop. They change.
Go To Many did not start as a business idea. It started with a parent working out the private and selective school system alone, without a network, without anyone to ask.
We built the Parent Journey so that no family has to do the same. It begins in the primary years, with numeracy and literacy, tutoring and 11+ preparation. It carries on through admissions, bursaries, interviews and settling in.
But the questions do not stop when a child is offered a place.
Is she picking the right A-Levels? What is a super-curricular, and why does everyone keep saying it? Should he even be applying to Oxford? Is that for people like us?
Emma is the answer to those questions. With her on the team, the support we offer runs from Year 3 all the way to university entrance. One family. One community. One continuous Parent Journey.
Meet Emma
She got to Cambridge from a background where very few people did.
Emma Taylor is a Cambridge graduate, Jesus College, and has spent twelve years in the classroom, serving as Head of Philosophy and Head of Politics in different schools. She is currently Head of Politics and Scholars’ Programme Coordinator at the Jewish Community Secondary School (JCoSS), where for six years she has led the school’s Oxbridge and medical applications programme.
That matters here, and it is the reason we asked her to join us. Emma knows the version of the application process that nobody prints in a prospectus: the feeling of being the only one in the room, of not knowing the vocabulary everyone else seems born with, of wondering whether an offer is really meant for you. She is honest with students and with parents about all of it. She is also living proof of the answer.
- Cambridge
- Designs and delivers the Enrichment Curriculum for the Academic Attainment Programme at Lucy Cavendish College, since 2022. It has expanded every year because it works.
- Widening participation
- Works with the University of Cambridge, and runs a parallel access programme for young people from under-served backgrounds.
- Professional bodies
- The Philosophy Foundation, chief examiners, and NACE, the National Association for Able Children in Education.
- Teacher training
- Trains teachers in state schools to do this work for their own students.
Emma has sat on both sides of the table. She has been the student who did not fit the mould, and she has been the person preparing students for the interview.
What Emma brings
In schools, alongside Lisa
Lisa takes parents through the early years: preparation, tutoring, selective school applications, bursaries and the true cost of it all. Emma takes them through what comes next, and shows them where the road ends up. Parents leave the room understanding the whole map, not just the next step.
For students in Year 12 and Year 13
- Oxbridge admissions support: a step-by-step route through the application. Personal statements, admissions tests, interview technique, and super-curricular activity that actually counts.
- Politics and Philosophy A-Level preparation: a close read of what the specifications really demand, plus essay planning and revision techniques that meet them.
- Philosophical and political analysis: interactive, discursive sessions that stretch students well beyond the A-Level syllabus, drawing unexpected lines between politics, religion, architecture, physics, classics, psychology, board games and more.
- Academic skills: oracy, critical thinking, logic and validity, independent research, choosing the right course, and managing academic pressure.
- Mock interviews: run in the format of the real thing, with feedback on the answer and on how it was argued.
For younger students
We do not wait until Year 12. Emma is helping us build a joined-up pathway from Key Stage 3 and 4, so that a child in Year 7 is already quietly on the road, long before anyone uses the word “application”.
